Hey M8.

I think that units of 5 fire dragons will get you a confirmed Kill on an enemy Tank.

I think units over that size are wasted points , least thats what I have found playing my Eldar.

The list is what it is I guess not much more you can do with reserve denial @ 1500.

why storm guardians over Dire Avengers though?

The 8-man units are there to guarantee that those tough elite units are wiped out swiftly. Though 3 units would certainly be better for spreading your target opportunity, I find that 7-8 units with a flamer excel at wiping out the tougher units and indeed medium-sized marine squads.

As for Storm Guardians, if you've ever hit a unit with 4 flamers and 2 heavy flamers, you'd be sold too :)

In fact, the list started out based around these two units in the beginning. I've used it a few times, and it's a lot of fun. Not for Tournament play, but I recommend giving it a go

You can't have only two scoring units if they're both combat units. And by combat units I mean units that actually do anything.

And if you keep them in their flying cars all game so they don't die, you've basically wasted 67 points on not running DAVUs.

I suggest dropping one of the Storm Guardian units for a DAVU squad in a Falcon. Especially as the Fire Dragon configuration gives you plenty of anti-infantry options.

Where are you putting your Autarchs, by the way? I'd stick both with one of the FD squads. I'll give you a prize if you can figure out which one, why and how to use them. :)

Maybe one day we'll get awesome troops, but for now, I know what you mean. When I actually used this list, I did disembark my Storm guardians, but that happened to be when the enemy was pretty much wiped out.

The autarchs I attached to both Fire Dragon Squads. I'll just guess at why you might be attaching both to the same squad...

First of all, the opponent will realise the threat potential - after all, there are two extra BS6 Melta shots incoming with an already deadly squad. Any shots on that Waveserpent are shots that aren't directed at the other vehicles. Good for me!

The 2 autarchs detach from the unit, and now your target opportunity is threefold - something like that? :p

Exactly. :)
